I am a teacher now—have been for quite a while.
Special Education is my choice, ‘though it often drives me wild.
The students are just great . . . at least sometimes they are.
They’re just like you and me, but each one is a “trial.”
I “trial” first this, then that, and then “trial” something else . . .
To teach them just as much as their little brains can hold.
Sometimes I feel like quitting, but I know they need me so,
That I have to keep on trying, because I love them, you know?!
They drive me up the walls, and then back down again.
I take a breath and breathe a little, and then start over again!

As you might have guessed by now, I am an exceptional children’s teacher. This year I am teaching 9^th and 10^th grade students. They are sometimes a challenge, but I love them. I have been teaching over twenty-three years now, ten years were in regular education and the rest have been in special education.  You can look through my resume if you want more details. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching degree (MAT) from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida. My undergraduate degree was in Home Economics Education from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC
